“Rosalie” by Ocean Duri of @colour2thebone in the 2024 @thedollartistscollective group show “Macabre Marionettes”. 

Rosalie's story is one of companionship in captivity. Unlike Hyacinth, Rosalie's solace comes from the tales whispered by the bird perched in a cage on her leg and the dove in her hair. This dove, her confidante, speaks of vast skies and distant lands, painting pictures of freedom that Rosalie can only imagine. Together, they share a bond of imprisonment, dreaming of a day when they can experience the world beyond their constraints. Rosalie's hope lies in the stories she hears, a testament to the power of imagination to provide comfort and a sense of liberty, even when physical freedom is unattainable.

Rosalie was created using a G3 Draculaura Monster High doll, she has been repainted by Doll Artist, Ocean Duri. Her original face has been removed carefully. Her new face has been carefully repainted using high quality watercolour pencils and soft pastels, fixed with sealer. Factory hair has been removed and rerooted with 100% acrylic yarn and styled. Rosalie has been embellished with apoxie sculpt and hand painted filigree, flowers and bows. Her costume is handmade. She comes with a display controller and one of a kind marionette stand and COA.
