Hyacinth

“Hyacinth” by Ocean Duri of @colour2thebone in the 2024 @thedollartistscollective group show “Macabre Marionettes”. 

Hyacinth's existence is a poignant blend of beauty and sorrow. She stands, forever poised, on a stand that cruelly holds the key to her liberation just beyond her reach. As she performs, her movements are graceful, yet each motion is a silent plea for the freedom she cannot grasp. Occasionally, the light catches the key, igniting a flicker of hope in her wooden heart. But as the performance ends, the key remains an elusive dream, reminding her of the freedom that dances just out of touch, mocking her with its proximity.

Hyacinth was created using a G3 Abbey Monster High doll, she has been repainted by Doll Artist, Ocean Duri. Her original face has been removed carefully. Her new face has been carefully repainted using high quality watercolour pencils and soft pastels, fixed with sealer. Factory hair has been removed and rerooted with 100% acrylic yarn and styled. Hyacinth has been embellished with apoxie sculpt and hand painted filigree, flowers and bows. Her costume is handmade. She comes with a display controller and one of a kind marionette stand and COA.
